Baldino Digital has been awarded Outstanding Social Media Campaign for its work on “Nunsense”
Carbondale, Pa. – Baldino Digital, a local company specializing in digital media for small businesses, announced it has been awarded an Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Award for Outstanding Social Media Campaign. The company received the award for a three-month Facebook and Instagram campaign which promoted a Scranton production of “Nunsense” by Our Cabaret Productions.
The campaign was designed to chronicle pre-show antics of the musical comedy's characters, and led right up to opening night. This production of “Nunsense” was a fund-raising event for the Little Sisters of the Poor at Holy Family Residence.
Baldino Digital told the pre-show story through videos and captioned photos, setting the scene for what the audience would enjoy at the show. The campaign went so far as to even include characters such as Sr. Julia and Fr. Virgil who are referred to in scripts, but never make it to the stage.
The goal was to create a familiarity with the characters and their backgrounds. It resulted in a complete sell-out of the two-performance limited engagement. The production netted $6000 for Holy Family Residence and the Little Sisters of the Poor.
“This campaign was such a fun and exciting one for us and for the cast of ‘Nunsense,’” said President and Managing Director, John Baldino. “It was an untried approach for us that paid off for our client, and we are delighted to be recognized nationally for the work we put into it.”
Since 1999, the IAC Awards have recognized outstanding online advertising. Judges for the IAC Awards are experienced professionals with an in-depth understanding of the advertising industry. Entries were judged against other entries within a specific category and ranked by creativity, innovation, impact, design copywriting, use of medium, and memorability.
